Find answers to some of our frequently asked questions about domain transfers.
Why transfer domains to The B.A.D Host
Reasons to transfer your domains to The B.A.D Host include:
- Retaining any remaining time on your current domain registration and receiving an extra free year of registration for each transfer, potentially resulting in substantial savings.
- Access to global support from domain experts, ensuring prompt issue resolution no matter your location.
How do I transfer my domain?
Transferring your domains to The B.A.D Host from another registrar is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below:
- Unlock the domain name you wish to transfer from your current domain registrar.
- Obtain an authorization code (also known as an EPP code or transfer key) from your current registrar. If the authorization code is not displayed in your account dashboard or control panel, request your current registrar to email it to you. Note: The authorization code may not be required in all cases, such as when transferring country-code domains (ccTLDs).
- Verify the contact information linked to your domain name. Confirming your contact information ensures that you receive any communications sent by your current registrar during the domain transfer process.
- Utilize our bulk domain transfer tool to transfer up to 500 of your domains to The B.A.D Host at once. If the extension of the domain you wish to transfer is not listed, it cannot be transferred to us.
What happens when I transfer my domain?
When you initiate a domain transfer to The B.A.D Host, only the domain itself is transferred. Other associated services, such as email or hosting, will not be moved unless you choose to transfer them to The B.A.D Host as well.
Are there any limits on domain transfers?
When it comes to domain transfers, they can generally be initiated at any time. Nonetheless, ICANN regulations prohibit domain transfers within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer, with the exception of .au domains. It’s important to consider that special instructions apply for transferring .uk, .ca, .eu, .es, .se, and .au domain names to The B.A.D Host.
